WIFE OF COACH ROBINSON DEAD AT 96
We are deeply saddened by the death of Mrs. Doris Mott Robinson, wife of Coach Eddie G. Robinson. Mrs. Robinson passed away this morning at approximately 8:00 AM CST while in the hospital in Ruston, Louisiana. She was ninety-six years old. Mrs. Robinson graduated from McKinley High in Baton Rouge, La. where she attended Southern University from 1936-1938.She graduated from Leland College in 1941 and married Eddie G. Robinson in the same year. After many years of teaching in the Lincoln Parish school system, she retired to travel with Coach Robinson and the Grambling Tiger football team. She was truly "the woman next to the man". We will miss her regular visits to the museum. She had just attended a reception in the Doris Robinson Banquet Hall only one week ago. Farewell "Aunt Doris"... In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make donations to the Eddie Robinson Legacy Fund or the Friends of the Eddie G. Robinson Museum.
